On Saturday, August 10th, we hosted our annual Cure VCP Disease Celebration in Macon, GA and we're still buzzing with excitement from the evening!
We hosted 160 attendees from 11 different states- a truly humbling sight. Their presence made the day special, and it showed just how far our community reaches.
Fall Line Station provided such a wonderful venue filled with such character, charm and some delicious Ranch Water!
SmokeSouth's BBQ catered the evening and it was a hit! So many of our guests kept going back for seconds (and maybe thirds).
With a few bingo games on the line, guests entered the room ready to win! During those nail-biting Bingo games we gave away $1,000 in prizes, and the energy in the room was electric! Competition didn't stop there- many tried, but only a lucky few succeeded at hitting slot #5 at Plinko for a chance to win the 75" Hisense TV!
We couldn't end the night without taking a moment to recognize some of our amazing supporters in attendance who took the challenge for the I CAN MOVEment earlier this summer. They shared their stories and inspired so many to join our efforts. We were so grateful for the opportunity to honor them!
Thanks to our community's incredible generosity, we raised a whopping $89,000! We are overwhelmed by the support. These funds are critical to funding our biomarker discovery project- critical research that will bring us closer to finding a cure.
Looking back, what strikes us most is the sense of community and hope that filled the room. It wasn't just about the games or the prizes - it was about coming together. Many had never heard about this disease and we appreciate the listening and compassion as we grow our awareness and support of research for VCP disease.
From the bottom our heart, thank you. To those who volunteered, donated, or just showed up with amazing energy, you made a difference.
Together, we're not just raising funds - we're raising hope.
We'd love to see the day through your eyes! If you attended and snapped any photos or have a special memory to share, please upload them here. Help us keep the spirit of the day alive!
